Scatmonkey is a monkey who is the boss of all Stinky Beans. In The Chronicles of Stinky Bean, he sends the protagonist on various quests (while doing nothing himself), and kills him at the end because he has become a threat to his own power. However, in the second part the protagonist is revived and gets a chance to win Scatmonkey's favour.

Beginning of First Game[]
ScatMonkey: "Rise, Stinky Bean. A New task awaits you. I am Scatmonkey. And I am here to guide you on a quest."
Stinky Bean: *squeak*
ScatMonkey: "Now, now, we won't be attacking thing-things like last time. No, This is far more important."
Stinky Bean *squeak?*
Scatmonkey: "I need you to retrieve a very special item for me. It's my Deep Fried Gerbil. He's not quite done yet, so he may be a bit of handful. I left him under the Tree of Life."
Stinky Bean: *sipping the soda*
Scatmonkey: "I'm glad to see that you understand. One more bit of advice: Seek out Matt Man. He has something that will be very helpful to you. NOW GO! You know what to do!"
When Stinky Bean found Deep Fried Gerbil[]
Scatmonkey: "You found it! Oh I can't wait till you get back! Speaking of which... Meet me just past the Tree of Death ahead. Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds... unless that Stupid Acorn is there, then it is as bad as it sounds. HAPPY TRAILS!"
Beginning of Level 2 after retrieving Deep Fried Gerbil to him[]
Scatmonkey: "You have done well, my bean. Very well indeed. I have a new task for you, Stinky Bean. This time we'll be searching for treasure."
Stinky Bean: *squeak*
Scatmonkey: "YES, Stinky Bean! It is FEAR that drives us! FEAR" *laughs maniacally* "...Ahem...anyways, the location of the treasure is still unknown. What I need you to do is meet my contact, Jennifer, and find out the location of the treasure. NOW GO!"

Scatmonkey: "AH-HA! The Location of the treasure is revealed at last! I'll bring you back and we can figure out how to get a hold of this treasure! MONKEY MADNESS!!"
Beginning of level 3[]
Scatmonkey: "You have done well, my bean. Very well indeed. At last we know the location of the most valuable treasure. It appears to be located in the North Pole in the cactus forest. This is where you shall go. FOR THE GLORY OF THE SCATMONKEY! AWAY YOU GO!"
When Stinky Bean found the treasure[]
ScatMonkey: "AT LAST! THE TREASURE! Quickly I must see what's in it! Return to me, my bean."
Beginning of level 4[]
Scatmonkey: "You have done well, my bean. Very well indeed. Behold, Stinky Bean! The TREASURE! That's right, Stinky Bean. It's Magical Enchanted Meat! Oh, Lucky day!"
Stinky Bean: *squeak?*
Scatmonkey: "No, you can't touch it. In fact, I have one last task for you. Remember how I said I wouldn't have you attacking Thing-Things?"
Stinky Bean: *squeak*
Scatmonkey: "Yes, well... I lied. There's one prowling through the city, and I need you to take care of him. MAGIC MEATS AWAY!"
When Stinky Bean finally killed Thing-Thing[]
Scatmonkey: "Your task is now complete. Return to me, my bean."
End of First Game[]
Scatmonkey: "You have done well, my bean. Well, I've got my Gerbil, my Treasure, and my dead Thing-Thing... Looks I have no more use for Stinky Bean." *kills Stinky Bean*
Beginning of The Second Game[]
Mini Stinky Bean: "Scatmonkey! Why have you taken our beloved Stinky Bean from us?! He did everything you asked and still you saw fit to destroy him. Why couldn't you take one of us instead?!"
Scatmonkey: "...that bean... I destroyed Stinky Bean for good reason. He was too much threat to my own power. ...But there could be a loss of faith from the rest of the beans if I don't give them back their little hero. ...hmm... Take one of you instead? I suppose I could arrange that." *Sacrifices his mini stinky bean to revive Stinky Bean*
Stinky Bean Cults: "Praise be to Scatmonkey! Stinky Bean has returned! Stinky Bean... Now is your chance to prove yourself to Scatmonkey and be closer to him. There are many scatmonkey statues throughout the forest where you must find. And if they are all moved onto the monkey pedestals, it is said that you will be favored by Scatmonkey. Go now, Stinky Bean and show Scatmonkey what you can do! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!!"
