The HK-21 is a weapon featured only in Thing-Thing 4.

Real weapon[]
Based on the H&K G3, the weapon create a general purpose 7,62x51mm machine gun in 1961, being the "biggest sister" of all G3 family (H&K MP5, PSG1, H&K 33, etc.) using many same parts. It use a disintegrating metallic link ammunition belt types and can be used by infantery, machine gun position and vehicles. Their principal competitors were M60, FN MAG, PKM and Minimi.

In it's only appear, the weapon is the most powerful .308 weapon and non special gun (Aside with PANCOR Jackhammer and X6 Flechette Rifle), having high rate of fire and damage
Is first seen in the boss battle against Project 153, where Project 154 uses it to shoot the fuel tank on the former's helicopter. During the boss battle, it has infinite ammo. After 153 dies, it appears at the beginning of the Forest, in front of 154's car.The gun can also be obtained in the Genetics Lab.

- The H&K 21 is one of only two belt-fed weapons featured in the series, the other being the M249 SAW.
